Sojourner House is a homeless shelter in Eau Claire run by the La Crosse Diocese Catholic Charities. The house provides a safe, clean place for adult men and women who are experiencing homelessness; affirms the Christ-like dignity in every individual through compassionate presence, listening, and hospitality; and empowers people to rebuild their lives with the engagement of the greater community. Guests may sleep overnight, shower, wash their clothes, and eat breakfast while ensuring their personal dignity, respect and safety.
St. Charles Borromeo volunteers provide hot meals for two months every Friday and Sunday night at the Sojourner House. Volunteer coordinator is Betty Bresina.
St. Peter the Apostle volunteers serves meals every third Wednesday. Volunteer coordinator is Carrie Geissler.
Additional volunteers are always needed and are very welcome, either as a regular member of a group or as a substitute. To volunteer through either parish please contact the parish central office.
